Hi.
My name is Patrick Buckley, most of my ppl call me Bucks. I graduated college in 2016 and made the genius decision to start a career in sales afterwards.
Am I a sales guru? LOL absolutely not. But since I’m “making a living” doing sales, I figure I might as well try to learn and be decent at it.
Making a Living: Slowly paying off college debt and saving enough money to buy a house by age 43 😎
My sales experience at this points spans multiple industries and roles.
I started out hammering the phones as a cold-calling BDR, and worked my way up to a Territory Rep driving around visiting clients in the b2b home services world.
I’ve since switched to a more ~trendy~ startup job in a consultative sales process.
I’ve been lucky to have worked (& still work) under some pretty awesome managers, and to have received extensive formal sales training that’s taught me a lot about the psychology and strategy behind many sales tactics.
Cool, so what the heck is Commission Breath??
Commission Breath is that awful stench we sales people sometimes give off while on the phone with a client, desperate to make a sale and earn that sweet, satisfying commission check.
It can sound like a panting dog to whoever’s on the other end of the line

Commission Breath the newsletter on the other hand...is about reinforcing good sales habits, exploring and experimenting with new ones, and building a community of like-minded sales people looking to improve, innovate, and learn.
I also throw in some links to cool things happening in the world, and a few other surprises.
